January Standards

Dear Parent/Carer

As we have approached the end of the first term, I would like to thank you for your continued support with maintaining our uniform expectations. With the new year now here I thought it would be timely to reshare our expectations in support of all students arriving back on January 9th looking smart and ‘ready’ to learn.

Uniform is an important part of our academy identity, ethos and values. Wearing our uniform correctly reinforces who we are as a community and helps students to feel pride in their school. It also helps prepare students for life after school where many will have to dress smartly for work.

Our uniform policy is available at the following hyperlink: https://priesthorpe.coopacademies.co.uk/about-us/our-policies/behaviour-for-learning-policy/

Please see the following guidance below;

The following items are our items with distinctive characteristics:

Co-op Academy Priesthorpe Black Blazer with Academy logo in white.

Co-op Academy Priesthorpe Tie – The tie stripe must be in the student’s House colour.

Optional Black V Neck Jumper – This must have the Academy logo.

These can be purchased at Rawcliffe’s Ltd, Bradford or Whittakers Schoolwear, Farsley.

Plain Black Shoes. Trainers are not permitted.

Black Skirt or Black Tailored Trousers Plain

White Shirt/Blouse

These items can be purchased at many high street retailers.

In addition to the above it is important to note that students are not permitted to have patterns in their hair and wear any jewellery other than studded earrings. Nose studs/rings are not permitted. Nail varnish can be worn but acrylic nails are not permitted.

We are looking forward to welcoming back our students, on January 9th, in full academy uniform. Uniforms will be checked each day as students enter the building. Any students not in full uniform will be expected to borrow what they need from the school uniform shop. To encourage consistently high uniform expectations we will also apply the following sanctions to those students who do not arrive in full uniform,

1st time - Warning

2nd time - 60 minute detention

3rd time - 1 Day in Room for Improvement

4th time - 1 Day Alternative to Exclusion Uniform (Years 7 – 11)

Thank you again for your continued support. If you have any questions or require any further information regarding uniform then please do not hesitate to contact your child's Year Manager.

Yours faithfully

Liam King

Vice Principal
