Dear Parents and Carers,

I am writing to update you on Priesthorpe’s journey towards achieving the School of Sanctuary Award. This is a nationally recognised initiative that celebrates schools committed to being safe, welcoming, and inclusive environments for everyone, particularly those seeking sanctuary such as refugees and asylum seekers.

As part of this journey, we have been developing our pupils’ understanding of what it means to be a place of safety and inclusion. Through lessons, assemblies, and school activities, children will learn about compassion, diversity, and tolerance.
