Welcome Back Letter April 2026
Dear Parent and Carers
Welcome Back
I hope you and your families are well and had a restful break. We are delighted to welcome all students back to the start of a new school term.
Last term was incredibly busy and full of great opportunities for our students. Highlights included two visits to Downing Street—first for our Student Community Council, and later for two of our Year 11 students, both of which were fantastic experiences. The ski trip was another memorable success, and our Sports Studies students greatly benefited from their visit to the Manchester Velodrome. We were also proud to host our second Community Iftar, which was once again a wonderful event bringing our community together.
As we begin this term, our rewards assemblies will continue, celebrating the achievements and positive contributions of our fantastic students. I would also encourage you to visit our school website, where you can find photos and stories showcasing all that has been happening across the academy.
We have many exciting events planned for this term, including the return of our popular rewards trips at the end of the year. Earning a place on these trips will be closely linked to attendance, so it is essential that students are in school every day to secure their place.
Our Year 11 students will begin their exams this half term, with the first exam on Friday 8th May. We are incredibly proud of the resilience and determination they continue to demonstrate as they prepare for this important period. We are also looking forward to celebrating their hard work with a leavers’ assembly and prom at the end of the exam season.
We are pleased to share that this year’s prom tickets will be free of charge. It promises to be a fantastic event, as we transform our school hall into an unforgettable space for celebration. To secure an invitation, students must maintain excellent attendance and punctuality throughout the exam period.
In addition, for those Year 11 students who go the extra mile, we are offering an exciting incentive—a free driving lesson. Students who attend optional revision booster sessions, have strong attendance and no lates will have the opportunity to take part. Please remember that support for revision and exam preparation is available on our website, providing useful resources for students as they prepare for their exams.
Year 11 are not the only ones with assessments this term. Year 9 will sit their first assessments in the sports hall this half term. Those assessments will start the week commencing the 5th May. And for our Year 10 students, the first GCSE trial exams will start the week commencing the 15th June.
With so many plans, we are looking forward to another busy and successful term.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
Warm regards,
Louise Pratt
Principal
