Update: School Changes from July 6th

Dear Parents and Carers,

Update: School Changes from July 6th

At Co-op Academy Priesthorpe, we want to make sure our school is a calm place for every student to learn. To help things run more smoothly, we are making some simple changes starting on Monday 6th July 2026.

Student Services

Our brand new Student Services Office will open all day from the 6th July to help students get ready for their lessons. Before school starts, students should go there if they need to:

  • Collect replacement timetables.

  • Resolve any uniform issues.

  • Pick up daily planner sheets.

  • Ask any necessary operational questions to staff.

Arrival Times

It is very important that students arrive on time. From the 6th July all students will be expected to enter school through the playground doors. The doors will close at these times:

  • Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays: Doors close at 08:30 AM.

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays: Doors close at 09:00 AM.

If a student arrives after the doors close, they will be signed in at Main Reception and we will notify you. Being late will result in a 30-minute detention after school on the same day.

Uniform Rules

We expect all students to wear the full school uniform correctly:

  • Inside the building: Coats must be taken off. Students must wear their blazer or jumper, tie, white shirt, and black trousers.

  • Footwear: Shoes must be completely black. No white or coloured logos/trims are allowed.

  • If a student is missing any uniform, they will borrow what they need for the day and leave a small deposit (like a phone) which they get back at home time.

Mobile Phones and AirPods

To keep classrooms focused, phones and AirPods must be switched off and away in bags the moment students enter the school gates. If they are seen or heard, they will be confiscated until the end of the day and a 30-minute detention will be set.

Our Detention System

We are moving to a same-day system so that issues are resolved quickly. You will be notified of any detentions through the Arbor app.

  • Level 1: A 30-minute detention completed the same day after school.

  • Level 2: If a student misses Level 1, they will complete a 1-hour detention the following day.

  • Level 3: If they miss Level 2, they will spend the next day in our Room for Improvement (RFI).

Thank you for your support in making Priesthorpe a great place to learn. If you have any questions, please get in touch.

Yours faithfully,

Liam King, Vice Principal,
