The Academy Will:
● Provide a safe and secure environment for students and staff
● Ensure lessons are well prepared, well taught and suited to the students’ needs
● Provide a wide variety of extra-curricular activities to enhance all students’ education
● Regularly send home accurate, informative updates on student progress
● Provide time for a meeting on ‘MYCAT’ between the student’s coach, the student and parents/carers in order to help two-way communication with regards to progress and barriers to achievement
● Contact home frequently to praise, commend and reward students
● Provide annual opportunities to discuss progress with subject teachers
The Student Will:
● Abide by the Academy expectations Ready, Respectful, Safe, modelling these at all times
● Treat everyone in the school with courtesy and respect, with particular regard to offensive language
● Always represent the school in a positive manner and do not bring the school into disrepute.
● Strive to be an independent learner, participating enthusiastically in the opportunities offered by the academy
● Focus on helping myself and everyone to learn by behaving appropriately at all times and not disrupting learning
The Parent/Carer Will:
● Ensure maximum attendance by my child, including avoiding taking holidays during term time
● Send my son/daughter to the academy in full uniform as detailed on the school website, on time, with all relevant equipment
● Inform the academy promptly if my child is absent, providing the reason
● Let my son/daughter’s coach or Year Manager know of any circumstances which may cause a problem with learning
● Support my child by insisting all home learning is done and supporting with remote learning
● Understand that we have a “never seen never heard” policy around the use of mobile phones on the school site
● Make arrangements, as far as possible, to attend meetings/parents evenings concerning my child’s progress and welfare
● Support the Engagement in Learning Policy and reinforce the Academy expectations (Ready, Respectful, Safe)
