End of Term Letter from the Principal
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We celebrated the holidays in style on Thursday this week with a night of carols and mince pies. Many thanks to all the families who were able to join us for another brilliant community event.
It’s been a busy week. On Monday our Student Community Council went to Westminster and Downing Street where they met the Prime Minister and the Chancellor of the Exchequer. They chatted with Sir Keir Starmer about Leeds. He studied at Leeds University and shared happy memories of his time in the city. They also questioned Rachel Reeves about her spending decisions and how she got into politics.
Rewards Assemblies have been another highlight in our final week of term with so many students receiving rewards for fantastic effort and achievement. Well done to all of our winners.
The response to our appeal for food donations to support The Pudsey Community Project has been very humbling. Thank you for your kind support.
Earlier this term our work to strengthen the partnership between home and school was recognised with the achievement of the Leading Parent Partnership Award. We are delighted with the award but continue to look for opportunities to strengthen the connection between home and school. Numbers at our Parent Forum continue to grow and we are always keen to welcome new members. Please check our website for more details. We have been incredibly pleased with our first two Meet Your Coach and Teacher Days (MYCAT) for Year 7 and Year 11. Attendance at both events was incredibly high and we look forward to welcoming Year 8, 9 and 10 next term.
There have been so many great things going on this term. I would encourage you to follow us on Facebook for all the latest news. Stories are also shared on our website. Highlights for me have included the French trip, Basecamp and Jamie’s Farm.
It has been an incredibly productive term. The energy and enthusiasm across all year groups has been fantastic. I hope everyone enjoys a well-deserved rest, ready to return refreshed for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead next term.
Thank you for your ongoing support and have a wonderful break.
Warmest wishes
Louise Pratt
Principal
