Plans for exams on Friday 6th June
Dear Parent/Carer,
On Friday 6th June, Year 11 pupils will be sitting their English Language exam in the morning and Geography exam in the afternoon.
Friday 6th June is also expected to be the start of Eid Al-Adha celebrations for many members of our community.
It is essential that all students attend exams scheduled for the 6th June. All students are entered for the English Language paper. Whilst we have raised concerns about the scheduling of exams at this time, we cannot change them. The exams cannot be taken at another time.
We understand that this may require some changes to family celebrations and, after taking feedback from students and staff, we are putting the following arrangements in place.
Students must attend all exams on the 6th June. However, when exams are finished, students can go straight home. For some this will mean that they can leave after the English exam in the morning. For those students who also have a Geography exam in the afternoon, they will need to stay until the end of their Geography exam.
Lessons will continue into the afternoon to support all pupils with their preparations. All Year 11 students can choose to stay and attend those lessons, if they wish to do so.
All Year 11 students can attend school in non-uniform on this day only. We hope this will allow our students celebrating Eid to join family celebrations quickly at the end of their exams.
We are extending our prayer space and are making arrangements to facilitate prayers throughout the day, along with an Iman visiting to lead prayer for those wishing to prayer.
We will provide lunch for those students remaining in school.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Kind regards
Mr McArdle
