Summer arrangements and the start of next term

Dear Parents/carers

It’s been an action-packed year at Co-op Academy Priesthorpe, full of events that brought our school and wider community together in celebration, learning, and achievement.

One of the standout moments was when some of our pupils had the incredible opportunity to visit 10 Downing Street, where they met with the Chancellor—a once-in-a-lifetime experience they’ll never forget.

In the spirit of togetherness, we proudly hosted our very first Community Iftar. Over 200 people attended this special evening, breaking fast together and building stronger bonds within our diverse school community.

Another highlight was our fantastic Culture Day, where pupils and staff showcased their heritage through music, food, dress, and traditions. It was an inspiring celebration of the many cultures that make up our school.

Families enjoyed attending one of our five new MYCAT sessions—valuable opportunities to learn more about school life and how to support their children’s success and to meet a range of groups from the community.

We’ve introduced Fredo Friday, rewarding students with 100% attendance each half term. Those students receive a ticket for a sweet treat and recognition of their commitment to school. Year 11s were also rewarded for their dedication with a unique opportunity—a driving lesson. Which they loved.

Our ‘Coaching Breakfasts’ offered pupils a great start to the day and a chance to build strong, supportive relationships with staff, to celebrate great attendance in coaching. We also celebrated incredible talent through our amazing school production of Annie.

Finally, in partnership with Pudsey Community Project, we now proudly host a community pantry on-site—supporting families and helping those in need.

It’s been a busy and brilliant year at Co-op Academy Priesthorpe—and with everything already planned, next year promises to be even better.

Over the summer we are looking forward to celebrating exam results with our Year 11 and Post 16 students.

A level results day is Thursday 14th August, with students able to collect results from 8.30am until 11.30am.

GCSE results day is Thursday 21st August, with students able to collect results from 8.45am until 12.30pm.

Finally, the arrangements for the start of term.

Monday the 1st September is a Training Day. School will be closed to students.

Tuesday 2nd September, school is open for YR7 and 11 only. The day will start at 9am. YR7 students should go straight to the main hall. YR11 students will be directed to coaching bases.

We are excited to welcome the newest members of our school community in YR7 and want to make sure they have all the support they need to settle in.

Wednesday 3rd September, school is open to all students. Coaching will start at 8.30am. Students in YR 8,9 & 10 will receive planners and timetables in coaching at the start of the day.

Thank you for your continued support. I hope you have a safe and enjoyable summer and we look forward to seeing you in September.

Kind regards

Louise Pratt
