Winter Attendance Letter
Dear Parents/Carers,
As we are into the winter months, we know that colds, coughs, and other seasonal illnesses are more common but we continue to emphasise the importance of attending school every day. Every school day counts, and being in school is the best way to ensure that your child is making great progress and not missing out on valuable learning opportunities.
We also want to remind you about the importance of punctuality. Pupils must arrive on time each morning. Please be aware that if a pupil arrives more than half an hour late, they will not receive their morning registration mark. Being on time sets a positive tone for the day and ensures they are well prepared to fully engage with all of their learning.
If you are contacted by our Attendance Team about your child’s attendance, please know this is part of our commitment to supporting families. We aim to work together to ensure every pupil can do their very best and make the most of their time at school.
I want to remind you of several initiatives we have to celebrate and encourage excellent attendance:
-
Weekly Attendance Coaching Cup: Rewarding the best weekly coaching attendance in each year group.
-
Individual Prize for 100% Attendance: All pupils who achieve 100% attendance in a week will be put into a prize draw each week.
-
Surprise Attendance Reward: Spot surprise rewards to recognise and celebrate consistent attendance.
Thank you for your continued support in ensuring your child attends school every day, on time, and ready to learn. Together, we can help them succeed and make great progress.
If you have any questions or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Best regards,
Siobhan Simms
