Dear Parents and Carers,

We are delighted to invite you to the Academy on Wednesday 14th October for your child’s first Meet Your Coach and Teacher day. (MYCAT)

What is MYCAT?

MYCAT is an opportunity for you to meet your child’s coach and their subject teachers. During these meetings, you can discuss your child’s academic progress and have coaching conversations to support their development. This will be an excellent time for you to find out how they have settled into life at Co-op Academy Priethorpe.

By combining coaching and teaching conversations, we aim to offer enhanced support to our students and families. 

What to Expect at MYCAT

MYCAT will be a key event in your child’s time at Co-op Academy Priesthorpe. It will include:

• Year-Specific Information: Details about upcoming events. 

• Family Support: Information on support services available for families.

• A Uniform and Equipment Shop.

• Information on Extracurricular Activities.

• Showcase of Pupils’ Work: A chance to see examples of pupils' work and celebrate their achievements.

• Light refreshments will be provided

What Will Happen on the Day?

On Wednesday, 14th October, the Academy will finish lessons, for years 7-10, at 1:00 p.m. to allow appointments to be held from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. By offering appointment times during the afternoon and early evening, we aim to make sure all families can find a time to suit. Lunch will be available for students from 1:00 pm until 1:30pm.

You can book appointments with your child’s teachers and coach via Arbor, using the parental portal. If you encounter any issues with the booking system, please contact the office. We encourage you to make your coaching appointment first, to ensure you see your child’s coach.
