Refugee Week Assembly: Former Student Shares Inspiring Journey from Syria to England
As part of our Refugee Week celebrations, we were honoured to welcome back a very special guest — former student Abdul Hamzeh, who shared his powerful story of resilience, hope, and transformation.
Abdul shared the extraordinary story of his journey from war-torn Syria to building a new life in England. Now studying Physics at university, Abdul’s message to our students was clear and uplifting: ‘Never look back — always look forward.’ He encouraged everyone to be hopeful, to embrace challenges, and to never take anything for granted.
Abdul’s resilience and optimism left a lasting impact on all students and staff. His story is a powerful reminder of the importance of compassion, inclusion, and the incredible strength that can come from adversity.
We are very proud of Abdul and inspired by his journey.
