Bridge Curriculum Support Officer
We’re looking for a Bridge Curriculum Support Officer to join our team!
The Bridge offers a unique and fulfilling opportunity to assist students who require additional support and guidance to help them reintegrate into mainstream school settings. This role involves diverse and dynamic responsibilities, collaborating with both students and staff to cultivate a fully inclusive environment. The aim is to provide a tailored curriculum and wraparound support package that facilitates students' transition back into our mainstream setting.
Your role will involve closely collaborating with students, employing a range of skills and strategies to help them positively manage their behaviour, enabling them to effectively participate in classroom settings with the support of the ISAP Leader.
At the top of your game, you’ll relate well to young people, collaborate effectively with other adults and work constructively as part of a team. You’ll need to be an enthusiastic team player with the ability to use initiative, work independently and stay organised. This post is for a full time, term time only + 5 days.
You’ll do all this whilst capturing the spirit of our vision and values and whilst role-modelling exceptional professional behaviours.
Why us?
Co-op Academy Priesthorpe is situated in Pudsey and just 15 minutes from both Leeds and Bradford centre with places for 1250 students and 135 staff. The Academy has a very special ethos, which visitors continue to comment on. Equity and equality are key drivers for us in ensuring that all students have the opportunity to excel within a highly inclusive and supportive community.
All colleagues, teachers and support, are responsible for a small coaching group of students which they meet with for 1.5 hours over a week. Full training is offered and you will be buddied up with a teaching member of staff. This adds a very rewarding element to this role.
All our values are based upon the values of the Co-op Group, which will inform our behaviours.
Self-help: We do not expect to be spoon fed – we will try to do things for ourselves in the right way and at the right time.
Self-responsibility: Everyone should act in a responsible way around the academy site and in the local community. We take responsibility for our own learning; we want to become independent learners.
Equality: We are proud to be part of a very multicultural academy, with students from all over the world; it is important that we treat each other with respect and accept that others may be different from ourselves. We should all have equal chances to succeed.
Equity: We want to look for the best in each other. Rewarding others fairly to encourage all types of achievement.
Democracy: We will contribute our ideas to make the academy a success.
Solidarity: We can achieve more by working together, rather than as individuals.
